Young Ladies...

Understand that your body is a temple meaning it's your body, you need to take care of it. You shouldn't have to expose yourself to feel beautiful or (sexy). Respect your body it was a gift given to you. Exposing yourself won't make you look more beautiful or (sexy). The only thing it's doing is making you look like you have no respect for yourself. The scars and flaws you have are yours and only yours. In todays world showing your body is everywhere. On magazines, tv, and ect. I feel we have role models to look up too but the internet never shows the positive things those ladies do. Or shall I say they don't pay attention. Your body is a work of art and you should appreciate it. Once something is on the internet, no matter if you delete it. You don't know if someone saved it or screen shot it. Don't do something that you will regret. If you see friends exposing themeselves help them out. If they don't want to listen then at least you tried, you can't help someone that doesn't want to be helped.
Most ladies do it because they want boys to like them or want someone to tell them their body is (sexy). I'm telling you now, that is won't last forever. Boys will do stupid stuff, you think they like you but really they can be talking about you to their friends or ect. Don't embarrass yourself, keep your body to yourself. You will gain your confidence one day just have patience, encourage yourself and ask God to help you through it.

It's time for a change...

You may have some ache and pain, but you woke up this morning. You have positive things going on in your life but your so focus on the negative, your not paying attention to the positive. You need to take time out and find your happiness. You deserve to smile and you are worthy. This is worth fighting through. Everyone goes through these storms and heavy days but you have to find away through it. When you get knocked down, you look around and it seems like no one is there for you. You feel like all those people that said "Call me if you need me", "I'm always here for you", have turned their back on you. Its like no one understands. But sometimes you have to let go in order to find your happiness. Dont look for it too come from other people. You focused on yourself, meditation is a example. Sitting there talking to yourself, talking to God and just have a few minutes of peace is a good way to start. You can't live your life being unhappy and walking around with pain on your back. It's time for a change.

Why me? By:Iyanla Vanzant

Why me?
Bad things are going to happen. Painful, ugly, frustrating events are going to take place. There is no way around getting your feelings hurt, having your ego bruised, your trust weighed, your heart broken. Life has its ups and downs. If you are living, you are bound to trip and fall every now and then. There is not much you can do while you are going through your challenges and difficulties, but there is something you can remember that will make it a bit easier to bear.
The same God that was good to you yesterday is good today. The same God that loved you last week , loves you today. The same powerful, almighty, all-knowing God that saved you, comforted you, guided you the last time you needed it, will save, comfort, and guide you today. Right where you are, in the midst of trouble, take a moment to be loved, comforted, guided, by the good God who knows exactly what you need. God is present. God's presence is
Called grace.

"Good Morning Ladies And Gentlemen"

It's a new day. What happened yesterday is over. What happens today was meant to happen today. But you should always start your day right. Wake up and pray and get your day started. :-)

Yesterday, I Cried By: Iyanla Vanzant

 Yesterday, I Cried

Yesterday, I cried.
I came home, went straight in my room,
sat on the edge of my bed,
kicked of my shoes, unhooked my bra,
and I had myself a good cry.
I'm telling you,
I cried until my nose was running all over
the silk blouse i got on sale.
I cried until my ears were hot.
I cried until my head was hurting so bad
that I could hardly see the pile of soiled
tissues lying on
the floor at my feet.
I want you to understand,
I had myself a really good cry yesterday.
Yesterday, I cried,
for all the days that I was too busy, or too
tired, or too mad
to cry.
I cried for all the days, and all the ways,
and all the times I had dishonored, dissected, and disconnected my Self from
myself,
I cried for all the things I had given, only to have them stolen;
for all the things I had asked for that had
yet to show up;
for all the things I had accomplished, only
to give them away, to people in circumstances,
which left me feeling empty, and battered
and plain old used.
I cried because there really does come a
time when the only thing left for you to
do is cry.
Yesterday, I cried.
I cried because little boys get left by their
daddies;
and little girls get forgotten by their
mommies;
and daddies don't know what to do, so
they leave;
and mommies get left, so they get mad.
I cried because I had a little boy, and because
I was a little girl, and
because I was a mommy who didn't know
what to do, and
because I wanted my daddy to be there for
me so badly until I ached.
Yesterday, I cried.
I cried because I hurt. I cried because I
was hurt.
I cried because hurt had no place to go
except deeper into the pain that caused it
in the first place, and when it gets there,
the hurt wakes you up.
I cried because it was too late. I cried because
it was time.
I cried because my soul knew that I didn't
know
that my soul; knew everything I needed to
know.
I cried a soulful cry yesterday, and it felt
so good.
It felt so very,very bad.
In the midst of my crying, I felt my freedom coming.
Because
Yesterday, I cried
with an agenda.

For Every Woman By: Angela Davis

For Every Woman

This is for every woman
that cries herself to sleep
that lies alone in bed at night
that stays awake, unable to sleep

This is for every woman
that is scared of being hurt again
that has been left behind, heartbroken
that needs to be given something to believe in

This is for every woman
that needs to feel wanted
that wants to feel desirable
that feels like no one even cares

This is for every woman
that has loved another freely
that shows how much she cares
that accepts others for who they are

You are beautiful
Everything will be ok if you can believe in yourself.
But most of all, please love yourself

~My Trip

Going to the leadership program retreat was the BEST experience. In the beginning I didn't know how it was going to feel not being at home for four days, having room mates and ect. Being away from my mommy was hard but I did it. I learned so much there and met so many amazing friends. When we all got there, We were quiet but at the end of that night all 80 of us clicked. There wasn't anyone who hated each other or anything. Everyone was so supporting and clapped for everything. We became family seriously. Learning about drugs and listening to people tell their story was inspiring and really touched me. We always here about situations that happen but never really get to talk to the people or see them in person.
Going there for four days taught me a lot. Not being able to use my phone when I want to and not having wifi so I couldn't get on anything lol. Having room mates and having to share the bathroom and sharing rooms.
They made you feel comfortable. Having workshops, playing games with our groups, riding the boat, laughing, talking, doing a Harlem shake video, crying and ect.
Having groups was something I enjoyed. My group was amazing, we were so close to each other and opened up to each other. When it was time to share our item we brought (something that means something too you) I felt like that's when we knew we could trust each other and that we could lean on each other. You never know what someone is going through no matter what they show on the outside. I'm really proud of myself and can't wait to continue my path. I'm here to inspire and share stories.
Love,

"Kennedi M."

I taught myself that I was a Queen, I believe every lady is. Don't let no one knock your crown off, Keep your head up! :)

"Having The Man Above In Your Life"

Having God in your life, Would have to be the best choice you ever made and will make. No matter what you go through he is ALWAYS there. Sometimes we may ask ourselves "Where is he when I need him?" but we have to remember that its not on our time it's on the man above times. God should come first with everything. Whenever you are put through a storm or don't know what you are going to do, you pray on your knees and let HIM handle it. After you pray, your trust needs to be with him. He knows what's coming next, he knows what is going to happen in 5 months or even a year, he knows. Putting you through a storm isn't a bad thing. You will become STRONGER, you will LEARN A LESSON, you will be able to HELP OTHERS, and so much more. At the end it's worth it. You don't NEED people to get you through it, you NEED one thing and that's God. When your done praying and your faith is with him. Take your bible out and READ IT. Go to CHURCH and BIBLE STUDY. It will pass just not on your time. You may have pain on your back but it will heal. You may be stressed out or depressed but happiness is on your way. You need to praise him and pray and put your trust in him and EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE ALRIGHT.

Brown Skin

"Brown skin, girl you know I love your brown skin."

Pain...

Stop ignoring it.
You know you want to scream,
You have tears that want to roll down your face.
Stop hiding the pain, claim it.
Let go of the angry inside of you
I'm not saying let it out on other people but have "me time" and let it out.
Until you claim it and stop ignoring it, you will feel the pain.
Claiming is a part of healing.

.......Breathe

Your so stressed out, your worried about so much, your worried about everyone but yourself, you have a lot to do, your tired, you just want to get away from everything and sleep, your phone bill and water bill came in and you don't know how your going to pay it, you didn't do good on finals and now you feel stupid, you didn't pass with the right grades and now you have to go to summer school, your not putting God first and letting him handle it. Just BREATHE....In and out, in and out, in and out, in and out! Stop what your doing and get on your knees and let those tears fall down your face and stop holding them in. You put your hands together and ask the man above to get you through this, to give you strength, to watch over you, to give you patience. Put him first! Go and have some time for yourself when you get done praying, YES you have a lot to do but let "HIM" handle it.

YOU MATTER!!!!!!

I don't care what the people at school said, the people you worked with said, your cousins, your mom or dad, your sister or brother I don't care! I'm letting YOU know right now that "YOU MATTER." You can't let other people define you, you have to define yourself and know that YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH! Your not on this earth for no reason it's a purpose that you are here. Stop letting what people say get in your head. Listen to what God thinks of you. He looks at the heart, he won't ever judge you. You may feel like it's you against the world when it's NOT. God will put you through things for you to learn and make you stronger. Please understand that your not the only one going through the storm or the situation. Never say you are alone because your not. Don't feel like you need to leave this earth or get away from everyone because you feel that your just walking and no one is noticing you. Someone is noticing you rather you think it or not. Go look in the mirror, and see your beautiful face or handsome face and tell yourself that "YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH AND YOU DO MATTER"

"Keep Going"

We may go through hard times, get knocked down on our knees, and ready to give up. We may feel like the storm we are going through will never pass. We feel alone, feel that every time we try to explain ourselves it's like that person  wasn't listening. You have all these things going through your mind and you just want to scream, you just want to get away from everyone. You don't feel like you are "Ok" you feel stressed, depressed or ect. This saying is something I think everyone needs to say to theirselves. "It's ok not to be ok" you will get through this storm no matter if you feel like it's taking forever for it to pass. Put your faith in God and Pray as long as you need to. Listen to Gospel music to keep you going or write outside in peace with your tea on the side. Do what you need to do for yourself so you won't take a step back but "WILL" take a step "FORWARD."

"MAYA ANGELOU"

One of my inspirations! She is a strong African American Woman, Her poems, books & ect. always makes me want to reread them over and over again. No matter what happened to her in the pass. She took that & made history. I love Maya Angelou and I'm glad she can still be with us till this day.
